Luther Smith

Luther Smith passed away peacefully at his home in Spring City, TN, on Saturday, October 12, 2024. He was a lifelong resident of Rhea County and will be missed by all those who knew him. Luther enjoyed being near the water and fishing to relax. Most of all, he enjoyed painting. He was a remarkable artist. From large scale murals on a building, to artwork on a canvas, he could capture the beauty of nature with his artistic talent.

Luther was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Minnie Smith, wife, Patricia Ann Smith, Brother, Wayne Smith, as well as a baby brother who passed away before birth.

He is survived by 3 children; Sons, Scotty Smith and Tracy Smith, daughter, Kay Evans, three sisters; Connie Thompson, Kathy Keltch, and Teresa Gunter, three brothers; Donnie Smith, Larry Smith and Mike Smith, two grandchildren; Gregory Burnett and Patrick Burnett, step grandson; Greg Hixson and 2 great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, at 1pm, October 16, 2024, at Texas Grove Baptist Church with Norman Huskey officiating. The family will receive friends from 11am until the start of the service. Interment will follow at Add-Smith Cemetery.
