Malinda (Roddy) Austin

Malinda Roddy Austin, 69, of Dayton, TN, left this world peacefully, June 7, 2026.  She was born in Andrews, NC to the late Gibb and Glenda Roddy.  Malinda has been a resident of Dayton since she was four years old. She was a great wife, a selfless teacher of special needs children and was also a great farmer. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gibb and Glenda Roddy.

She is survived by her husband, Joe Austin; daughter Lona Hall; stepson, Joseph Nick (Lindsey) Austin; brother, James Grant Roddy; sister-in-law, Cynthia (Randy George “Hud”) Travis; grandchild, Ethan Hall, her most special “daughter” Gracie; best friend, Rayna Smith. 

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home, with Rev. Milton Knox  officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00AM until service the service hour at 1:00PM.  Interment will follow in Rhea Memory Gardens.
