Mark Alan Nunley

Mr. Mark Alan Nunley, age 61, of Dayton, Tennessee, passed away on August 7, 2026, with his loving wife by his side. He was born on April 25, 1965, in Dayton, Tennessee, to the late George and Judy Martin Nunley. Mark was a graduate of East Ridge High School and made his home in Dayton. He was employed with Astec Industries for more than 40 years. Mark was a talented craftsman who enjoyed woodworking, fishing, making his own fishing lures, and gardening. He took special pride in his flowers and enjoyed the companionship of his cat and best buddy, “Screech.” Above all, Mark loved his family. He treasured his girls, and his beloved wife, Joanne, was the love of his life. He will be remembered for his kindness, creativity, devotion to his family, and the love he shared with those around him.

He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife, Joanne Willin Nunley; daughters, Tamara Peterson and her husband, Nicholas, and Megan May; sister, Lori Nunley Minton and her husband, Jay; granddaughter, Kelsie “Bug” Crawley and her boyfriend, Charles Lewis; mother in-law, Phyllis Willin; niece, Jessica Byrne; nephews, Silas Minton and Tucker Byrne; uncle, Nick Nunley; aunts, Patsy Burdette and Barbara Lemons; and many cousins. Mark will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A memorial visitation will be held in Mark’s remembrance on Friday, September 4, 2026, from 4:00–8:00 p.m. at Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home
