Mary Jo (Stephens) McCarver

Mary Jo McCarver, age 74 of Dayton, TN passed away on March 21, 2022, at Erlanger Medical Center. She was a lifelong resident of Rhea County and of the Baptist Faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Lester and Margie Stephens; brothers: Mitchell Stephens, and Wayne Stephens; sisters: Ellen Stephens Carney and Sandra Stephens Davis; half-brother: Millard Stephens; half-sisters: Frankie Morgan, Pearl Minnis, and Bernadine Agnew.

She is survived by her children: Lori (Larry) Summerer of Homosassa, FL, Charles (Diana Keener) Jordan of Dayton, TN, and Roxanne Fritts of Pikeville, TN; brother: Leo (Kathy) Stephens; sisters: Liz Tipton (Larry) Combs and Hazel (Vic) Aviles; half-sister: Betty Ann Dawson; half-brother: Virgil Stephens; grandchildren: Nick Jordan, Trevor Morgan, Jeremiah Young, Jacob Young, and Natasha Gilbertson; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The service will be 11 am on Saturday, March 26, 2022, in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home, with Rev. Clyde Fitzgerald officiating. Interment will follow at Buttram Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends from 5 pm-8 pm on Friday March 25, 2022, at Coulter Garrison Funeral Home.
