Melody Dawn Purser

Melody Dawn Purser of Dayton, TN passed away February 17, 2020 at CHI Memorial Hospital.   

Melody was born in Rhea County on November 8, 1969 to Linda Onks and the late J.W. Purser. Melody was a lifetime resident of Rhea County and attended New Union Baptist Church. She was a 1988 graduate of Rhea County High School where she was the Eagle mascot. After high school, she continued her education at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga studying accounting. She was an avid UT Vols fan, and she would always be watching football or basketball games. Throughout her life, she loved being with her nieces and nephews, playing with her fur babies, and starting each day with a glass of Coca-Cola. Her main pride and joy though, was her daughter, Chloe.     

She is preceded in death by her son, Tucker Wiley Megaris; father, J.W. Purser; step-father, Ernie Onks; maternal grandparents, Russell and Helen Roberts; paternal grandparents, Margaret Bledsoe and Roy Purser.   

She is survived by her daughter, Chloe Purser; mother, Linda Onks; sister, Cindy (John) Weyler; brother, John( Kim) Purser all of Dayton, TN; nephews, Daniel (Brittany) Weyler, Christopher (Marcie) Weyler, Jase and Logan Purser; great nieces and nephews, Maddi, Audrey, Calleigh, and Branch Weyler; aunts and uncles, Sue Purser, J.R. (Wanda) Roberts, and Mary Kirkpatrick; lifelong friends, Lana Champion and Beth White; fur children, Mia, Maggie Mae and Meatball.   

A Celebration of Life will be held at New Union Baptist Church on February 29, 2020 at 2pm.
