Mildred (Lloyd) Stinnett

Mildred Lloyd Stinnett, 91, of Dayton, TN, went to be with her Lord and Savior, on the evening of March 19, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family.

Mildred was a member of Garrison Baptist Church where she taught children’s Sunday school classes and was an active member of the women’s ministry. Mildred was a beloved babysitter for many years and later in life, became known as the local Avon lady.

Mildred was the daughter of the late Jess and Elizabeth Wilkey, and was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Earnest Stinnett, children, Elizabeth “Sue” Tharpe and James Richard “Red” Stinnett, granddaughter, Sarah Amanda Tharpe, and several brothers and sisters.

Mildred leaves behind daughter-in-law, Beckie Stinnett, grandchildren, Angela (Tim) Gossett, Chris (Dawn) Stinnett, Adam Tharpe, Brooke (Shawn) King, eight great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, and brothers, Emmett (Bernice) Wilkey, David Lloyd, Donnie Lloyd, as well as several sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home March 23, 2023 at 3pm with Dr. Mike Breeden officiating. Interment will follow at Rhea Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1pm until service time Thursday, March 23, 2023.

She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
