Nancy Rose (Sheets) Marler, age 90, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024, at the Life Care Center of Dayton. She was born October 11, 1933, to Charles and Edith (Hill) Sheets, in Chattanooga, TN. She was a resident of Rhea County since 1998, and a member of the Dayton Church of Christ. She was previously employed by Bell South as an Operator Manager, and after retirement, she hiked the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine. Nancy loved her family and especially cooking for her grandchildren. A special thanks to Hospice of Chattanooga for their dedicated care of Nancy.
Nancy is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Sidney Marler; son, Van Marler; parents, Charles and Edith Sheets; sister, Louise (Sheets) Smith; brothers, Clifford and Pat Sheets.
She is survived by her two children, Vickie (Paula Knox) Marler and Vivian (Lance) Richie, of Chattanooga, TN; sister, Sherry Sheets; four grandchildren, Eliot (Sarah) Richie, Hailey (Phil) Johnston, Mamie (Chad) Simpson, Rachel (Tim) Leslie; three great-grandchildren, Miles and Tess Johnston, Wren Simpson, and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be Friday, April 5, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Smyrna Cemetery, with Brother Steve Brown officiating.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 4, 2024, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home.
