Norma (Hony) Budke

Norma Louise (Hony) Budke, age 75, of Dayton, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at her home on August 30, 2026. Born in Peoria, Illinois, on August 17, 1951, to the late Marion Hony Jr. and Leona (Cook) Hony, Norma was a woman of deep Catholic faith who dedicated her professional life to healthcare. She spent many years working as a radiology technologist, later combining her love for new places with her profession as a traveling radiology technologist until her well-earned retirement. Beyond her career, Norma embraced life with a creative and curious spirit. She was an avid traveler who delighted in exploring new destinations, an accomplished artist who spent countless hours painting, knitting, and quilting, and a passionate gardener. A devoted reader, she was rarely far from a good book.
Above all, Norma cherished her family, bringing that same warmth and care to every corner of her life, whether gathering with those she loved or spoiling her faithful dog, Jax, who passed away earlier this year. Norma's life was one of faith, strength, creativity, and deep love for the people around her. She will be dearly missed, but her laughter, determination, kindness, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Budke, to whom she was married for over 20 years until his passing. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her brother Louie Hony, her sister Brenda Hony, and her dog, Jax.

She is survived by her two sons, Scott Thompson and Timothy Thompson; her daughter-in-law,
Stephanie Thompson; her two cherished grandchildren, Brayden Thompson and Paige Thompson; her brother, Mike Hony; and her sisters, Diane (Hony) Budke, Gloria (Hony) Lovelace, and Yvonne (Hony) Faichney, along with extended family and friends.

Norma’s life was defined by the light she brought into every room and the genuine warmth she shared with everyone she met. She leaves behind a rich legacy of devotion to her faith, unwavering love for her family, and a lifetime of cherished memories that will be held dear for generations to come.
