Preston Dewey Weller

Preston “Pete” Dewey Weller, age 86, passed away peacefully at his home on April 14, 2023 with his family and friends at his side.  He was of the Baptist Faith and was a member of Waldens Ridge Baptist Church.  Pete retired from the Navy where he served his country proudly in the Vietnam War and was awarded the Purple Heart for his bravery.  He enjoyed farming, watching westerns, and traveling with his wife Ilon, especially going to the Navy reunions.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Pearl and Lefa Weller, sons; Roy Vester Weller and David Gene Weller, mother of his children; Margaret Weller, brother; Leonard Weller, and sisters; Barbara Cranfill and Becky Mize.

Pete is survived by his wife; Ilon Kelley Weller, very special sister; Helen Cranfill, special sister in law Charlott Weller, son; Michael (Judy) Weller, special stepdaughter Karen Nix, daughter in law; Judi Weller, 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and 5 step grandchildren,  and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 17, 2023 at 2:00PM in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Jewell officiating.  The family will receive friends on Sunday April 16, 2023 from 5-7PM at the funeral home.  Interment will be at Ogden Cemetery.
