RAYMOND "HOYT" PORTER, JR.

Raymond Porter, 54, passed away on August 8, 2023, at his residence.  He was a lifelong resident of Rhea County.  He loved going to Goodwill, flea markets, yard sales, and getting out doing stuff.  He also loved to go fishing.  

He is preceded in death by his parents; Hoyt R. Porter, Sr. and Virginia Hodge Porter; and two sisters, Verna Harris and Sharon Brown.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Loretta Sherrill Porter; two children, Eric Porter and Aaron Porter; sister, Joyce Garland; and nieces and nephews, Calvin Sherrill, Gage Franklin, Hannah Garland, Rachel Garland Wilson, and Sherry Everett.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday August 12, 2023, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home with Brother Edward Hughes officiating.  Interment will follow at Burchard Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Saturday August 12, 2023, from 12:00 until the time of service.
