Ralph Edward Henderson, 75 went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday evening, November 9th, 2020.
He was a lifelong resident of Rhea County and a faithful member of Yellow Creek Baptist Church for many years where he served as a deacon and greeter. He was indeed a devoted husband, father and grandfather to his family. He enjoyed doing woodworking, gardening, talking with friends and relatives on the phone and driving through Smith Bend with Newt Layman to count turkeys and deer. He and his wife, Helen enjoyed driving through Cade’s Cove to look for black bear.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Myrtle Kring Henderson and by his first wife Judy Porter Henderson.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Helen Rutledge Henderson; daughter, Rhonda Lawson; grandson, Jacob Lawson and a very special great granddaughter, Korie Lawson; brothers, Owen (Anna Lou) Henderson, Grover ( Nola) Henderson and Paul Henderson; sisters, Margie (Jack) Martin and Jeanne ( Jack) Ballard and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be Friday, November 13, 2020 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home with Dr. Mike Young and Rev. Clyde Fitzgerald officiating.
Family will receive friends Friday, November 13, 2020 from 12:00-2:00pm .
Ralph will be laid to rest beside his first wife Judy in the Porter- Ward Cemetery to await the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Dr. Roger Rothwell will conduct the committal service at the cemetery
