Randy Edward Newell

Randy E. Newell, 74, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, May 30, 2021. He was the son of the late Howard and Dixie Kelley Newell. He was a member of Dayton First Baptist Church where he served as deacon for many years. He was a 1964 graduate of Rhea Central High School and retired from La-Z-Boy in Dayton. He was a proud US Army veteran having served in Vietnam. He loved wood working, hummingbirds, westerns, corvettes and especially 60’s Mustangs.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Ronnie Newell.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Gail Poole Newell; 2 sons, Jeff (Mindy) Newell of Evensville and Kevin Newell of Dayton, also surviving is his pride and joy grandson, Brandon Newell; 2 brothers, David (Diana) Newell of Soddy Daisy, TN, Tom (Alice) Newell of Suwanee, GA; sister, Linda F. Newell of Dayton, TN and many extended family, nieces and nephews.

Service will be Wednesday June 2, 2021 at 3:00pm in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home with Rev. Clyde Fitzgerald officiating. Interment will follow at Rhea Memory Gardens.

Family will receive friends Tuesday, June 1, 2021 from 4:00-8:00pm.
