Ray Eakins Obituary

Ray “Bootie” Eakins, 91, of Dayton TN passed away at his residence on November 7, 2021. He was a life-long resident of Rhea County and of the Church of God faith. He loved the Lord and his family. He was a very loving and caring man who enjoyed visits, and praying, with family and friends. He enjoyed watching Jimmy Swaggart on TV. Ray served two years in the Army, and went on to work for 50 years at Shipley Basket, Inc. in Dayton, TN. 

He is preceded in death by his father, Will Eakins and mother, Ida (Williams) Eakins; his wife, Evelyn Toni Eakins; son, Kenny Ray Eakins; brothers, Earl (Oma) Eakins, Richard (Margaret) Eakins; sisters, Dorothy (Clyde) Wilson, Juanita (Dewey) Colbaugh, Isabelle (Gene) Clingan, and Jeanelle (Richard) Breich.

He is survived by his son, Leslie Allen Eakins, and several nieces and nephews.

Service will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home with Rev. Clyde Fitzgerald officiating. Interment will follow at Rhea Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM at Coulter Garrison Funeral Home.
