Robert Alan Krause, age 51, of Dayton Mountain, passed away on April 21, 2026. He was born on November 24, 1974, in Chicago, Illinois, to Jack and Fern Krause.
Robert was a loving man with a deep passion for learning and a thoughtful, inquisitive spirit. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and devoted much of his life to education, mentorship, and intellectual pursuits. He was a longtime chess coach and a member of the Renaissance Knights Foundation. He also served as a volunteer game facilitator, operating “On The Road To Sophias,” an educational website designed to teach through gaming. Robert will be remembered for his keen mind, generous heart, and the positive influence he had on those who knew him.
He is survived by his parents, Jack and Fern Krause of Illinois; his spouse, Lisa Wolfson Jones of Dayton; his son, Brandon Jones of Dayton; his brother, Martin( Kathy) Krause of Illinois; his twin sister, Michelle (Moe) Krause of Illinois; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in Burchard Cemetery, with family members officiating. Burial will follow the service.
Following the service, all who wish to attend are warmly invited to join the family for a time of fellowship and refreshments as they continue to honor Robert’s memory. The gathering will be held in the conference room of the Main Street Dayton building, located at 379 2nd Avenue in Dayton.
