Ronald Grimes Obituary

Ronald Eugene Grimes, 69, of Graysville, TN took his last sojourn to be with his Lord on December 29, 2018.

Ron was born to Gerald and Mary (Root) Grimes on October 20, 1949 in Williamsport, PA. He joined the United States Air Force in 1968 and achieved the rank of Master Sergeant before retiring in 1991. While stationed at Goodfellow Air Force Base, Ron met and later married Lineta Fay Fisher of San Angelo, TX on July 9, 1984.

Upon leaving the Air Force, Ron attended the Southeast Institute of Biblical Studies, then called the East Tennessee School of Preaching in Karns TN. After graduating with a degree in Biblical Studies, Ron became minister for the Graysville Church of Christ in Graysville, TN. He continued full time evangelism until going to work for the United States Postal Service in Spring City, TN. After retiring from the USPS in 2011, Ron and his wife became involved with the Sojourners, an evangelistic mission with the Church of Christ, traveling the USA and Canada serving the Lord.

A great example of a faithful Christian, Ron will be severely missed by all who knew and loved him.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Mary Grimes and son Gregory Grimes.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Lineta Fay Grimes of Graysville, TN; two children, Sherry (Dusty) Jolly of TX and Brandise Grimes of KY; one granddaughter, Kimberly Jolly of TX; two brothers, Jerry (Rita) Grimes and Dick Grimes both of PA; one sister, Sandy Henry of NY as well as many nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters in Christ and friends.

A memorial service will be held at Dayton Church of Christ in Dayton, TN at 1:00 pm, Saturday, January 19, 2019 with Minister Steve Brown officiating.

Burial will be in Pennsylvania at a later date.
