Rosie Ann (Wire) Tankersley, 70, of Dayton, TN, passed away on June 23, 2021. She was born in Warrick County, IN and worked as a car hop at Parkette in Boonville, IN where she met her future and awesome husband Charles H. Tankersley, Jr. They were married at Otter Creek Church in Booneville, IN on April 24, 1970.
Rosie was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Charles Herman Tankersley, Jr.; mother, Ann (Mike) Carter; father, Henry (Loretta) Wire; brother, Henry “Butch” Wire; father-in-law, Charles Tankersley; mother-in-law, Frances Tankersley; niece, Libby Wire Birge; and brother-in-law, Robert Maurer.
She is survived by her son, Michael (Pamela) Tankersley of Fincastle, VA; daughter, Michelle Tankersley of Dayton, TN; grandson, Charlie (Kaysie) Tankersley of Dayton, TN; granddaughter, Sierra Tankersley of Dayton, TN; sister, Frances Maurer of Boonville, IN; brother-in-law, David (Anna Kaye) Tankersley of Hixson, TN; sister-in-law, Brenda Meyers of Dayton, TN; sister-in-law, Sandra (Bill) Hackney of Nashville, TN; several nieces and nephews; and her grand fur babies, Atlas, Leo, Autumn, and Nina.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Chattanooga Hospice, American Cancer Society, and New Union Baptist Church.
Service will be Sunday, June 27, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home with Pastor Jeremy Deal and Dr. Danny Ruhling officiating. Interment to follow at Spence Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors on Saturday, June 26, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
