SCOTT MARTIN

Mr. Norris Scott Martin, 64, a life-long resident of Soddy-Daisy, passed away at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN, on April 17, 2023.  He worked at TVA for many years.  Scott was a member of Pleasant Hill AME Zion Church and loved his family and God. 

He enjoyed working on and driving cars, as well as fishing, gardening, yard work, working in the hay fields.  In later years, he enjoyed doing concrete work. He will be missed dearly.  

Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Juanita Smith Martin; brothers, Louis, Dexter, and Lavelle Martin; and sister, Virginia Martin. 

He is survived by his four children, Norrissa Martin of Dayton, TN, Misty Routt of Dayton, TN, Margo Martin of Dayton, TN, and Serlena Martin, of Hixson, TN; three sisters, Aundra Moore of Bakewell, TN, Annie (Ivan) Toney of Bakewell, TN, and Vera (Gary) Dillard of Chattanooga, TN; and one brother, Darryl Martin of Hixson, TN; two grandchildren, Zain Martin and Emani Routt; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and the mother of his children, Moya Martin.

Funeral service will be held at Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home with Pastor Tyris Chislom and Pastor Julian Smith officiating on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at 2:00 PM with burial to follow at Pleasant Hill AME in Bakewell, TN.  The pallbearers will be James Mitchell, Robert Leftwich, Carl Martin, Theodore Hyatte, Victor Hickey, Stacy Swafford, and John Martin, Jr.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time.
