STANLEY EURWIN BLACKBURN

Stanley E. Blackburn, age 75, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023, at CHI Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, TN.  He was a lifelong resident of Dayton, Tennessee and was a member of the Word of Truth Church in Dayton. 

He served his country proudly in the United States Army and is well known for his business Blackburn’s Kountry Korner Store.  Stanley loved football, fishing, hunting and golf.  He was an avid TN Vols fan and big jokester. His dialysis nurse referred to him as a “firecracker.”  Stanley was a joy to be around and no matter how bad he felt, he always wanted to keep going.  He always wanted to be on the go, sometimes he would accompany his wife to Kinney’s pools where he would sit outside and greet customers.   Some of his favorite and most special times were spent with his son, granddaughters and great granddaughter. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Maxand Quata Blackburn and his brother, Gary Blackburn.

Stanley is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Eva Lou Booth Blackburn; son, Jeff (Charla) Blackburn; two granddaughters, Kaylin Blackburn and Addison (Bailey) King; and great granddaughter, Caroline King; as well as several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home on Friday, October 13, 2023, at 3PM with military honors.  Pastor Chip Beaulieu will be officiating.  The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 5-8PM and on Friday from 2PM until the time of the services.
