Sandra Gail Voigt Gass, 67, of Dayton, passed away at her home on Monday, April 19th, 2021.

She was born in Dayton on October 24th, 1953, and lived in Dayton most of her life. She attended Cleveland State Community College and worked at TVA-Watts Bar for many years. She retired from the Tennessee Department of Human Services. She was a lifetime member of First United Methodist Church of Dayton. 

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Leander Gass; parents, Preston William (Bill) Voigt and Virginia Eleanor Ford Voigt; and her brother, Charles Preston Voigt. 

She is survived by her sister, Kay (Gary) Hicks of Knoxville, Tenn.; stepdaughter, Paula (Chris) Gass Hatfield and children, Charlie and Ember of Dayton; nephews, Jeff (Angie) Hicks and Jason (Jennifer) Hicks of Knoxville, TN; nieces, Jill (Kevin) Tillman of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Kristin (Domingo Mendez) Voigt of Palm Harbor, Fla.; beloved great nieces and great nephews, Allie, Andrew, Janie, Catie, Caroline, Finleigh, Piper, Chandler and Alyse; as well as 10 first cousins. 

Private services will be held for immediate family in the Chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home. 

 In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Dayton First United Methodist Church 993 Market St. Dayton, Tennessee  37321

Sandra was a sweet childhood friend and neighbor. I have such fond memories of bike riding, mustard sandwiches, sitting on her front porch until dark talking about dogs and boys. Much love to Kay and family. Carol Purser Floyd
