Sharon Elizabeth Patten, age 82, passed away at her home on Friday, November 14, 2025. She was born in Wichita, Kansas, on April 10, 1943, to Albert and Lillian Wullschleger, and had lived in this area since 1978. She was of the Seventh Day Adventist faith.
She was an active woman who loved reading and working crossword puzzles, and her greatest joy was spending time with her family—playing cards, enjoying games, and joining in any activity that brought them closer together with much love and laughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her former husband, Johnny Patten; children James Patten, Joe Patten, Scotty Patten, and Tina Patten; brothers Earl Woten and Charles Woten; and sisters Gertrude Rees and Patricia Sanderlin.
She is survived by her companion, Ralph Thurman; sons Ricky (Barbara) Patten, Edward Patten, and Jeffery (Gena) Patten; and daughter Lorena (Scotty) Creasman. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Erika (Marcos) Valdes, Michael Creasman, Samantha (Nathan) Jackson, Brandon Patten, and Tonya Roberson; great-grandchildren Isabella Creasman and Elena Jackson; a sister, Carol Hawthorne; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Pettengill officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until the time of service.
Burial will follow in the Creasman-Patten Family Cemetery on Dayton Mountain.
