Sherry Edwards, age 68, of Dayton, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Rhea County Medical Center.
Born in Dayton to Henry and Alvedia Huskins Harris, Sherry was a lifelong resident of the area. She retired from La-Z-Boy Chair Company in Dayton, where she worked for many years.
Sherry was a devoted and loving wife of 54 years. Known for her incredible work ethic and adventurous spirit, she could do just about anything—and wasn’t afraid to try something new. A talented carpenter, she had a gift for making things beautiful and functional. Sherry brought joy to those around her and was truly a pleasure to be with.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Joann Hall; and her son-in-law, Garry Youther.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Ulyses Edwards; her daughter, Jenny Youther, both of Dayton; her sisters, Judy (Rick) Jenkins and Glenna (Russell) Tipton of Dayton, Inez Cumberworth of Michigan; her brothers, Bobby (Kathy) Harris, Wayne (Anna) Harris, and Jim (Sandy) Hall, all of Dayton. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Mack (Kendra) Youther and Makala Youther; great-grandchildren, Drake Hickman, Maggie Fugate, and Maverick Fugate; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home, with Rev. Bobby Harris officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
