Life is measured in moments and moments of laughter are what Susan Jeanne Laughlin was best known for and loved.
Susan was born on the 20th of October 1950 in Moline, Illinois, graduated from Waukegan High School in Waukegan, Illinois, and lived the majority of her life in the Midwest with Morris, Illinois being where she perfected her game of golf, stained glass, neon sign making, coaxing her roses to make one smile for their simple beauty, antiquing and anything that had to do with working with wood.
For many years Sue was employed by Commonwealth Edison and settled in Dayton, Tennessee last year in a cove with a pond and bullfrogs surrounded by four mountain ranges and living a peace that she had never felt before.
Susie could have one person or an entire room laughing and sometimes at our own selves and make one forget any sad or bad thing that was happening in the world or your life for a short time.
Susan was also filled with goodness, kindness, and thoughtfulness and the presence of her spirit and soul made Waupecan Valley in Illinois and Tall Grass in Tennessee a place we all wanted to be.
Susan is survived by her four siblings, Janet Jackson, Kathy Dougherty, David Laughlin, and Carol Springstead along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and nephews, and was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Thelma Laughlin, and her longtime friend, Diana Waldo.
A memorial service will be held at a future date and a donation to your local animal shelter would be the perfect compliment.
