THOMAS EDGAR SHIPLEY

Mr. Thomas E. Shipley, 91, of Sale Creek, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at Life Care Center of Rhea County.  He was born in Sale Creek, Tennessee and was a life-long resident of Rhea County and was of the Baptist Faith.

He was an avid Tennessee Volunteers fan and a life-long season ticket holder.  Thomas loved to golf, enjoyed yard work and took great pride in making his yard look beautiful. 

Thomas served his country proudly in the Air Force where he did a full tour in Alaska and Okinawa, Japan.  He was also a Korean era war veteran from 1951 to 1955.

Thomas is preceded in death by his spouse, Montie Jo Shipley; parents, Oliver and Tilda Green Shipley; and all of his siblings.   

He is survived by his two children, Rex (Brenda) Shipley and Kenny (Cindy) Shipley; three grandchildren, Zach and Baylee Shipley and Sarah Iapakino; and one great

granddaughter, Emily Conner.    

A private graveside service with Military Honors will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at 2PM at Rhea Memory Gardens with Dr. Mike Breeden officiating.
