Van Marler Obituary

Van Marler, 54, of Evensville, TN passed away April 1, 2020 at Rhea Medical Center.

Van was a longtime resident of Rhea County and a member of Soddy Church of Christ. He was a 1983 graduate of The Baylor School, a realtor since 1999, managing broker at Coldwell Banker Pryor Realty, Spring City and 2 times Realtor of the Year for River Counties Association of Realtors. Van was a loving husband and father, a teacher and mentor to others, fair, honest and loved by family and friends. He was an avid hunter who loved his family, hunting and real estate.

He is preceded in death by his father, Sidney Marler.

He is survived by his wife, Denise Marler; mother, Nancy Marler; daughter, Rachel (Tim) Marler Leslie; step-daughters, Deanna Valentine, Alyssa Valentine; step-son, Patrick Valentine; sisters, Vickie Marler, Vivian (Lance) Richie; several nieces and nephews, special friend Paula Knox and furry companion Ginger.

A private service will be held Friday, April 3, 2020.

Family will hold a private gathering at a later time.
