William Dodd Massengale, 23, of Dayton, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2023. He was born in Chattanooga on October 19,1999 to Billy Massengale and Stephanie (Dodd) Wilson.
Will was a lifelong resident of Dayton, apart from one beautiful year he spent in Key West, Florida. He was a 2018 graduate of Rhea County High School, where he played football. Will never met a stranger. He had a contagious smile, an unmatched sense of humor, and a heart full of love and kindness for everyone he met. Will loved his family beyond measure and lived a life full of adventure.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Stephanie (Barron) Wilson, father, Billy (Sarah) Massengale, brother, Spencer (Summer Bedsole) Massengale, sisters, Maya Rae Massengale and Allie Massengale, bonus sisters, Megan (Travis Campbell) Wilson, Rachel (Matt) Jagla, and five nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his grandparents, Jerry and Susan Dodd, grandmothers, Fayrene Massengale and Johnnie Clark, countless friends and extended family, and the love of his life, Brooklyn Smith.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 22, 2023, in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 p.m.
