William Charles “Baldy” Houston, age 79, passed away on January 7, 2025, at the hospice care Center in Chattanooga. Born on May 9, 1945, he was the son of the late Virgil and Pearl Houston.
Baldy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen Houston, several brothers and sisters, and his parents. He is survived by his daughter, Melissa (Tyron) Rogers, and his son, Charles Lynn (Tracy) Houston. Baldy was a cherished grandfather to Charles Lee Houston, Kim Boles, Brittany Willins, and Ashley Simmons. He also leaves behind six great-grandchildren, Cameron Skyles, Brooklyn, Kendall, CJ, Bryson, and Ava Houston, Gracie Fox and Ryan Creasman with another on the way. He is also survived by one sister and one brother.
Baldy had a deep love for his family, and he will be fondly remembered for his infectious laughter and kind heart. He enjoyed dancing with his wife, Helen, and was known for his love of watching Gunsmoke—a pastime that brought him much joy. Baldy was always ready to share his wisdom and positive outlook on life, and he will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home, with Brother Steve Brown and Brother Matthew Higginboth officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Smyrna Cemetery in Evensville.
