Willie Mae Swafford, age 95, of Dayton, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday morning, September 2, 2025, at the Lifecare Center in Dayton. She was born on August 25, 1930, in Dayton, Tennessee, to George and Elsie Stinnett Mickel.
Willie Mae was a lifelong resident of the Dayton area, having spent a period of time living in Indiana. She had a passion for cooking, quilting, knitting and dearly loved her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Clarence, Clyde, Marvin, and Kenneth Mickel; her sisters, Myrtice Peavyhouse, Melrose Mickel, and Georgia Locke; and her son-in-law, John Daily.
She is survived by her children, Jerry (Samara) Swafford and Debbie Daily; her grandchildren, Zach Daily and Shana Kean; and great-grandchildren, London McFaul and Cadin Patty. She is also survived by her sister, Lois (Jeff) Coppinger; and brothers, Bobby (Janice) Mickel, Sam (Virginia) Mickel, Rick (Yvonne) Mickel, Gene Mickel, Felix Mickel, and Jim (Sandra) Mickel.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 3:00 PM in the chapel, with Rev. Clyde Fitzgerald officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the time of service.
